Summer Holiday

There is a sweet light in returning to the origins of summer holiday, it is an inexplicable feeling that wanders between nostalgia and pleasure.
I go through the same paths of childhood and adolescence and understand the famous phrase "In my day life was not like that ..."
The search for references through a glance, finds the comfort of seeing in the distance the towers of Ofir, the bridge that connects Esposende to Fão, the mouth of the Cávado.
Looking back, the past seems like a wonderful place, full of joy, peace and unity and traversing the forests along the coast, the present shows that traditions have lost their grip and that they are reinventing themselves.
Today the taste and pleasure is new, instead of bathing in the Cávado river while waiting for the picnic in the forest of Ofir, I delight in the wetting of my feet, when I have a little more courage, a bath in the icy waters of the “sea of north".
The windsurf boards have been replaced by kitesurf that fills the sky with color, especially in the famous northern ones during sunny summer afternoons.
Today I travel along the Esposende waterfront or sit down to admire the river and allow myself to say that the return has been more surprising than the simple arrival or passage through Esposende.
