The passion for tiles and ceramics leads me to visit the National Tile Museum, located in the beautiful Convent of Madre de Deus, and to lose myself in its collection throughout the rooms, cloisters, chapel and cafeteria that house a vast and differentiated tile collection, showing its entire history in Portugal since the sec. XV to the present.

It is very difficult, I dare say impossible, to go through it without stopping to observe or remain indifferent to its history, the evolution of techniques, the influence of times, the purpose for which they were produced and what they tell or show us like the story of the hatter, the panel of the city of Lisbon before the 1755 earthquake.

In addition to the permanent exhibition that I appreciate, the museum provides temporary exhibitions that add value and relevance to artists and art in reference.

Sometimes I just have to stay in the cafeteria, drink something and stop and watch its garden or the tiles that decorate it, a place where the will is reborn and inspires and I scribble in a mind full of new ideas.

I know they have educational activities, I never participated in any, why? I don't know, I never thought much about it and there is no reason for it, it just hasn't happened yet.

I recognize that through the work developed in the scope of research and management of collections and documentation, conservation and restoration and educational service, it has contributed a lot to the dissemination, preservation and return of tile art to our country and to a new look on them to the world .

I usually went through the museum to my measure, without scheduled times or guided tours, but it has several possible methods of visit and without a doubt, a museum that you must visit, do it to your measure, even if it is virtually and then tell me what you felt.
