April 25th, 2020, day involved in so m any discussions and controversies, transported my mind to the same day at 46 years ago, when I woke up and the sun was still awakening but the police were already walking on the street recommending to people to stay at home, we could hear still in silence because we didn’t know very well what was happening. Throughout the day the news multiplied, people were seen on the street running, some were crying, others were laughing, others were not sure what to do and the bravest went to Lisbon to participate in what came to be called the “Revolution of the Carnations”.
It was a day of many reunions and great emotions and undoubtedly the beginning of a “struggle” that brought about a great change in our country.
It was the end of the colonial war, the right to vote, now so forgotten, gender equality, the school for all up to the upper level, improvement or working conditions, group and family outings, the generalization of the word Camarada, in short he could continue to enumerate, but it is know by “all of us” and allows us today to express and give our opinion in freedom.
After 46 years the struggle continues, changes are multiplying and information reaches us to increasing speed, freedom implies greater responsibility in our actions and opinions, having awareness and respect for those of others and the well-being of all for the construction and enjoyment of a world best.
