With a life full of chance, I set out on my way to Carvalhal, Abrantes. Without prey, and wanting to admire the beautiful country landscapes of our country, I headed down the old Estrada Real, today the legendary N2 that this year celebrated 75 years.

The N2, crosses Portugal, from North to South, the landscape and cultural diversity is notorious, covering it in whole or in part as I often do in the family car is undoubtedly going to meet centuries of history and traditions. Whenever I go around it I find myself agreeing with the affirmation: ´It´s one of the most beautiful roads in Portugal ”

Almost without realizing it, going through it takes me to meet a colleague from other walks and other stories of our country at Aldeia de S. Domingos, located at Km 380 of the N2.

It was by chance that I stopped looking at the Wall and recognized seeing it on her facebook, I tried to find out if I could find her there, but nobody knew Alexandra, already thinking that I would be wrong and without telephone contact, I ended up trying via messenger, I found and I ended up discovering that Alexandra is Cláudia, after all.

We talked for a while and regretted the fact that the pandemic led the groups to get away for a while and although we were “communicating” there was always a lack of reality and sharing in place. I ended up discovering that the village has been streamlined, giving relevance for being at Km 380 of the N2, almost in the center of Portugal. They make known to those who pass by, the local delicacies, their river beaches, their works, their people, and undoubtedly a little more of their history.

I let myself be enticed and “got lost” by its mountains, villages, small couples, and small uninhabited places that seem to be full of nothing but that are full of much.

I believe that in addition to S. Domingos, there are many villages and towns that have dedicated themselves to it, why not take advantage of it and travel along the N2? Be it on foot, by bicycle, motorbike, or in the family car and get to know a little more about the reality and beauty of our country.

To find out a little about what I say about research by the Km380 group, visit the place and have a snack at the Bernardino cafe.
